What is AIIMS MBBS entrance exam:
Pay attention all the medical students. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has started online registration for the MBBS course at AIIMS, New Delhi, Bhopal, Patna, Bhubaneshwar, Jodhpur, Rishikesh and Raipur. AIIMS has released the online registration forms for AIIMS MBBS entrance exam 2017.
The online registration process started on 24th Jan and will close on 23rd Feb at 5 pm.
The entrance exam will take place on May 28, 2017, at various centers across the country.
The exam is conducted for taking admission in the Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). It is AIIMS’ own entrance exam through which it grants admission to students across its seven institutes in the country.

The entrance exam will be a computer based test and it will be held in two shifts – First shift will be from 9 am to 12:30 pm and second shift will be from 3 pm to 6:30 pm. Around 2 lakh students are expected to compete for only about 700 seats.
The duration of this MBBS course is a minimum of five and a half academic years which includes one year of internship which is compulsory.
All the interested candidates must fulfill certain eligibility criteria in order to appear for the exam.
The candidate should be at least 17 years old.
All the interested candidates must have passed/appearing/appeared in 12th class exams from a recognized state or national board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as main subjects.
A candidate must have scored a minimum 60 per cent aggregate in General category.
OBC students get 5 per cent relaxation in aggregate marks.
SC/ST/OPH get 10 per cent relaxation in aggregate marks.
How to apply / Register Online:
The application forms are available through online mode only. You need to visit www.aiimsexams.org and register yourself and fill the application form online.
Visit AIIMS website and click on the “Academic Courses”.
Click on the MBBS tab.
Now, Click on proceed below. A new page will open- ‘AIIMS MBBS – 2017 Registration has been started’.
You need to register yourself first. Fill the details that are asked on the form like name, father name, mother name, date of birth, Nationality, category, OPH status, Identity Proof details, contact number, email id etc and click on REGISTER.
Now you need to pay the fee. You can pay the fee by any online mode i.e Debit card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking.
The application fee is Rs. 1000 for general & OBC candidates and Rs. 800 for SC & ST candidates. The OPH candidates are exempted from paying the fee.
Take the Print Out of the Payment Receipt as a Proof.
Now you have to choose the city in which you want to give the exam from the given options. Choose the city carefully as you can not change the city later. If you want to get your desired city then make sure you register yourself as soon as possible as there are a limited number of seats.
Now you will be asked to fill your academic qualification and address details. Make sure you refer to official documents if you don’t want to make any mistake.
Now you will need to upload your latest passport size photograph, signature, and thumb impression. You should upload them in .gif, .png, .jpg/jpeg format only.
The size of images should be between 50-100 Kb.
Now you will be able to submit the application form. You must recheck all the details that you have filled. Once checked click on FINAL SUBMIT button.
You will get an Acknowledge mail from AIIMS.
The status of registration including rejection/ deficiencies in the application will be available on the AIIMS website on 7 March.
Last Date to Submit Application Form: February 23
Entrance Exam Date: May 28
Entrance Exam Result: June 14
Counseling in Three Phases
- 1st Counselling 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th July 2017(Monday-Thursday)
- 2nd Counselling 3rd August 2017 (Thursday)
- 3rd Counselling 5th September 2017 (Tuesday)
- Open Counselling [If required] 26th September 2017 (Tuesday)
Classes begin on august 1
Pattern of exam:
- It will be a computer-based exam.
- Its duration will be 3 hours 30 minutes.
- There will be 200 objective type questions from physics, chemistry biology and general knowledge.
- Candidate will get one mark for each correct answer.
- There is a system of negative marking as well.
- Unattempted questions will not be given any marks.
Candidates must take the print out of the admit card from the website. It will not be sent through the postal system. Any candidate without the admit card will not be allowed to give the exam.
